SALAD BASICS:
CRUNCHY: RAW FRUIT & VEG, ‘CROUTONS’, NUTS, SEEDS, CRISPY BACON.
COLOURFUL: KEY COLOURS: RED, GREEN, ORANGE/YELLOW, BLUE/PURPLE, WHITE.
CREAMY: CHEESE (EG. FETA, MOZZARELLA, GOATS..) AVOCADO, SALAD DRESSING.
JUICY: TOMATO, MELON, SWEETCORN, POMEGRANATE, PINEAPPLE, GRAPES, STEAK.
SALAD DRESSING SUGGESTION: AVOCADO DRESSING (IF YOU LIKE GUACAMOLE, YOU’LL LOVE THIS DRESSING!)
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 RIPE AVOCADO
1 TBSP LEMON OR LIME JUICE
1/4 CUP OIL (EG. VEGETABLE &/OR OLIVE OIL)
1/2 TSP SUGAR
SALT & PEPPER (TO TASTE)
UTENSILS: BLENDER, KNIFE, CHOPPING BOARD, SALAD BOWL, SALAD SERVING SPOONS, MEASURING CUP & SPOONS, JAR FOR THE DRESSING.
METHOD:
SALAD:
CHOOSE WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE IN YOUR SALAD (SEE SUGGESTIONS ABOVE).
WASH (IF NEEDED), CHOP AND PLACE THE INGREDIENTS IN A BOWL OR DIRECTLY ONTO A PLATE.
SALAD DRESSING:
FEEL FREE TO CHECK OUT OTHER SALAD DRESSING RECIPES ON THE SITE IF YOU PREFER TO MAKE ANOTHER DRESSING.
PLACE THE DRESSING INGREDIENTS IN A BLENDER AND WHIZZ UNTIL SMOOTH. PLACE IN A JAR.
FASTEN THE LID TIGHTLY AND SHAKE WELL.
POUR SOME DRESSING OVER YOUR SALAD.
