HOMEMADE ICED TEA

CHEAP, EASY AND PLASTIC (BOTTLE) FREE!

INGREDIENTS
2 BLACK TEA BAGS
4 FLAVOURED TEA BAGS (CHAI, HIBISCUS, JASMINE, LEMON, RED FRUIT, MINT, CINNAMON)
4 CUPS OF WATER
½-1 CUP BROWN SUGAR OR 5 TBSP HONEY (ACCORDING TO TASTE)

FLAVOUR COMBINATIONS:
SAFFRON/PEACH/ MINT LEAVES
BLACKBERRY / MINT LEAVES
BLUEBERRY / LEMON SLICES
ORANGE/ VANILLA & CINNAMON STICKS
STRAWBERRY / BASIL LEAVES
MINT/ LIME SLICES

UTENSILS:
KNIFE, CUTTING BOARD, LADLE, MEASURING CUP, SPOON, PITCHER, MASON JAR OR GLASS

METHOD:
POUR BOILING WATER INTO THE PITCHER (JUG) AND ADD THE TEA BAGS.
LET THE TEA BAGS ‘STEW’ FOR 5 MINUTES, BEFORE GIVING THEM A SQUEEZE, REMOVING THEM AND PUTTING THEM IN THE COMPOST BIN. 
ADD SUGAR OR HONEY, TO TASTE AND STIR TO DISSOLVE.
ADD ENOUGH COLD WATER THAT THE COLOUR AND TASTE IS TO YOUR LIKING. 
REFRIGERATE TO KEEP COOL. 
SERVE WITH ICE CUBES, FRUIT AND FRESH HERBS (SEE FLAVOUR COMBINATIONS FOR IDEAS, BUT THERE ARE NO RULES! MINT LEAVES AND FRESH LIMES ALWAYS ADD FLAVOUR!)
LADLE YOUR HEALTHY ICED TEA INTO MASON JARS OR TUMBLER GLASSES AND DRINK WITH A REUSABLE STRAW!
